589AE got to stretch her legs last night! Our night crew had a calm flight to the Windy City. We’d like to thank our brothers and sisters at Air Evac 28 in Effingham for the top off on fuel, and road trip snacks, and our friends at AMR ambulance in Chicago for the ride to Northwestern Memorial from the Chicago Vertiport. The downtown skyline sure is an impressive change of scenery!

How long have you been with the company and what were you doing before flying

I’ve been with Air Evac for 3.5 years, before that I was working in the ER at Mercy South.

What is your favorite part of being a flight nurse at AE80?

The intensity of the job and the autonomy we are entrusted to have when caring for our patients.

What advice would you give anyone looking to become a flight nurse?

Take on every opportunity and learn from it. You never know where you will end up and how it will influence your future if you take the chance. Work hard and soak in the knowledge of your peers.
