Mississinewa Lake, one of the three Upper Wabash flood-control reservoirs, offers excellent fishing, hunting and boating opportunities in the heart of north-central Indiana. In addition to featuring a 400-plus-site campground and family cabins, Mississinewa was the first state property in Indiana to introduce seasonal camping, where visitors can retain a campsite for the entire season in an all-n

ew campground. The expanses of forests, prairies and farmland surrounding the lake provide attractive habitat to a wide variety of wildlife, exhibiting exceptional viewing opportunities for hikers, bird watchers and touring bicyclists. This property is in the Eastern time zone.

Our upcoming Bob Ross themed Happy Little 5K race allows you to choose where and when you run, walk, or hike the 5K! The Happy Little 5K supports tree plantings and other healthy forest initiatives in Indiana State Parks. For $36 per person, each participant will receive a Happy Little 5K shirt, a commemorative bib, and a finisher medal.

A great place to complete your 5K is at Mississinewa Lake! There are several trails you can use to complete the 5K, one trail you may want to check out is the Lost Sister Trail at Francis Slocum SRA. In April, you may see budding wildflowers as you travel the trail.

Thanks to all the hardy souls who came to the Sunrise Eagle Watch this morning. The wild turkey roosting in the trees outnumbered the eagles but it was a beautiful morning with the eagles and with the live birds of prey from the Salamonie Raptor Center.
