We are saddened to learn of the passing of beloved children’s author Jane Yolen.

As a librarian, and personally as a reader, her books have always held a special place in my heart.

Some of my favorites include:

How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night? — a bedtime classic full of humor and heart.

The Devil’s Arithmetic — a powerful and unforgettable novel for older readers.

Mapping the Bones - a haunting fairy tale retold for teens.

Jane Yolen wrote more than 400 books for children, teens, and adults, and her work continues to inspire readers of all ages. If you’ve never explored her books, this is a wonderful time to discover them together as a family.

Our library has many of her titles available to check out, and if we don’t have the one you’re looking for, we’d be happy to help you place a request.
