You may hear the tornado siren for a brief second in or around New Waverly around 1:45pm today. There is no current weather threat, the siren just needs to be turned slightly so it is not facing directly into the wind.

Over the last week multiple members and fire service instructors from NWFD attended Live Fire Instructor. This course gives instructors the skills and confidence to run high hazard, live fire training scenarios safely and efficiently. Additionally, members attended a live fire skills day to hone their abilities in fire suppression. We appreciate the dedicated hours of service these members give the department and Miami Township. The collective hours of training for just these two courses over the last 7 days totalled more than 240 hours of training.

Tonight members participated in an EMS in service with Cass County EMS. Subjects covered included administering medications, medical patient assessments, and moving patients. Nights like tonight help both agencies sharpen their skills!
