Blue Knights Indiana XIII LEMC - North Central Indiana International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club The rest, as they say, is history. New chapters and countries are being added on a regular basis.

The Blue Knights® is a non-profit fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law enforcement men & women who enjoy riding motorcycles. In the Spring of 1974, several law enforcement officers* from the Bangor, Maine (USA) area met and and formed a small, local motorcycle club. Soon, Blue Knight chapters were being formed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and beyond. With the addition of

Canada, and later Australia, the Blue Knights became an international organization.

*Our Founding Fathers are: Joel Rudom, Bill Robinson, Doug Miner, Ed Gallant, Mike Hall, Chuck Gesner, Wayne Labree, Chuck Shuman

As of 1 June 2009, we have 599 chapters and almost 20,000 members in 29 countries. Among the Blue Knight members,
"There are no strangers, only friends you haven't met."

With heavy I’m sorry to announce our chap chaplain and close personal Jack Hess has passed. Jack was hell of a man chaplain for the local ISP post helping with Per Police department, Miami County Sheriff’s Department and so many more, When I got hit by a car and in the hospital in Indianapolis for 14 days Jack made the trip down to see me several days where we had several long talks. Some about everyday stuff, some about faith, sometimes just prayer. He will be missed by all prayers to his family for strength to get through the hard times. Heaven One is getting the best.

Good Morning Blue Knights

Last night's meeting we had a surprise visit from our longtime Chaplin Jack Hess. Jack drove over from Defiance, Ohio. Brought a Certificate from The Blue Knights International Board of Governors for dedicated Service, as well as some of his pins from Secret Service and State Police as part of his legacy as a Chaplain.

Jack advised our group this was likely the last time he will see us. He has Cancer of the prostate, believed to be the aggressive type as his father and grandfather past from.

A failed bladder surgery, and lesions on his kidneys. Jack does not believe his heart or doctor would allow him to undergo any further surgery due to three heart attacks.

Jack expressed he turned 80 in April has had a very full life, serving as Indiana State Police, Miami County Sheriff, Secret Service, and Indiana Blue Knights XIII member Chaplain.

Jack stated his life has been blessed knowing and having friendships with all of Chapter XIII members. He wanted to make the trip to see as many of us as he could. Said moving a few years ago to Ohio near his son had been rough because he missed us, and the many travels we have had together.

At the end of the month Jack will be moving to 1940 Weston Hills Drive N.W. Cleveland Tennessee 37312
which is his daughter and husband's home - Jennifer Blaylock 423 650 7371. Jack's number is still the same.

Once he settles at his daughter's, he is putting himself into Hospice. He said, he is currently taking narcotics for his pain.

Jack bid us farewell, asked if we were in the area please stop and say hello. Prayed for members of the Blue Knights Chapter XIII. Jerry Ault told Jack he would be in all of our prayers. Jeff Markley asked that he might pray for Jack for strength and ease of his pain.

A group photo was taken of members present with Jack. We can get copies made for members if you wish. Our meeting then concluded.

Had the honor of riding in a rode ride today for fallen Elwood Officer Noah Shahnavaz. Met up with my good brothers from INX always great seeing and talking to them. Got my bike blessed by international pastor Dan Walls with some inspirational uplift thanks Dan. Randy Dyer president of INX is putting a lot of effort to get members involved and bringing the GLRC conference to Terre Haute next year. I can guarantee you this dude is going to be there.

What A weekend for IN13 Saturday Vice President Mike Kennedy lead a group to Moonshine Illinois population 2 for the unofficial Moonshine Cheeseburger run. I’m saying riding over 100 miles for a cheeseburger they are pretty damn good. Then Sunday I Chapter President Stephen “Ogre” McCoy and some other members rode in the annual Support The Troops Ride her in good ol Kokomo Indiana. This ride is a 87 mile ride escorted by the KPD motorcycle police. 80 plus degrees pretty windy and a couple hundred or more fellow enthusiasts. Great time heller sunburn blistered up. Keep that sunscreen close even if you don’t think you need it
