👮♂️ 10-42… For the Final Time
Today, the Peru Police Department said farewell to Lieutenant Doug Bernabei as he officially begins his retirement after a remarkable career serving the Peru community.
Lieutenant Bernabei served as the Chief of Police from 2006 to 2021, before continuing his service to the department as a Lieutenant until his retirement.
Today, we had the honor of celebrating Doug’s career and his many years of service alongside his family, friends, past co-workers, and the men and women he worked alongside throughout his career.
A career in law enforcement is filled with long days, difficult calls, countless memories, and a commitment to serving others. Doug gave many years of his life to protecting and serving the citizens of Peru, and his dedication will not be forgotten.
As he hung up his badge and took his final walk out the door, there was only one thing left to say:
10-42 — End of Shift.
Doug, from all of us at the Peru Police Department, thank you for your service, your leadership, your friendship, and your dedication to this department and our community.
Enjoy retirement, Lieutenant. You’ve more than earned it. 🇺🇸👮♂️
10-42, Lieutenant Bernabei. You’re finally off duty.
