The last day to apply for the Over 65 Credit and Over 65 Circuit Breaker Credit for your 2025 pay 2026 property taxes in the Auditor's office is Thursday, January 15, 2026.

To qualify, you must be at least 65 by December 31 of the year before taxes are due (or a surviving spouse 60+ not remarried). You must have owned or been buying the property under a recorded contract for at least a year. Your Federal Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) must not exceed $60,000 for single filers or $70,000 for joint filers or multiple owners. The property cannot be owned by a trust, LLC, partnership, or corporation.

To apply, bring a copy of your 2024 Federal 1040 form showing the AGI information. The Auditor's office will assist you by completing the necessary form. Each filer will need to sign a separate form.

If you were eligible for the Over 65 Deduction last year, you do not need to reapply.
