At Petaluma Adobe Living History Day, history comes alive through storytelling, music, craftsmanship, and community.

Walk through the adobe walls of General Vallejo’s rancho. Meet volunteers in authentic clothing. Join a docent-led tour and hear stories of life in the 1840s.

Bring a blanket, enjoy the spring landscape, and take in a slower pace of life from another time.

Step back into the 1840s at Petaluma Adobe Living History Day!

Join California State Parks on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 AM to 4 PM for a family-friendly event that brings Mexican-era California to life at General Vallejo’s historic rancho.

Meet vaqueros, traders, cooks, and craftspeople. Watch live demonstrations like blacksmithing and woodcarving. Try hands-on activities like rope making, historic games, and basket weaving.

Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and enjoy a spring day surrounded by history.

🎟 Admission:
Adults $3 | Youth (6–17) $2 | Under 5 FREE
(State Park passes accepted)

😱 Did you miss out on our first couple of programs? No need to worry! 📆 Our next Junior Ranger Program will be a part of our big annual springtime event on Saturday, April 11th: 🐑 SHEEP SHEARING DAY!!

🎊 Come and join us on Saturday, April 11th from 11am to 2pm to watch live sheep be sheared by a professional shearer! Prospective Junior Rangers can expect to earn a log book and a wooden badge upon completion of their Junior Ranger activity. Hooray! 🎉🎉🎉
