Good Evening. We are aware of a company called Ion that is attempting to go door-to-door in several local communities. We have had a couple dealings with them so far after hours, they have been informed to get a permit from city hall and how to obtain said permit during normal business hours. As of the time of this post, a permit has not been issued. We are asking if you see this person going door-to-door please call the non-emergency number(217-632-2273) and an officer will be dispatched.

🚨 TRAINING EXERCISE AT PORTA HIGH SCHOOL THIS AFTERNOON 🚨

A multi‑agency mock accident will be taking place at PORTA High School this afternoon. This is a planned training exercise involving Police, Fire, EMS, and possibly a medical helicopter.

This event is designed to give students a realistic, firsthand look at the consequences and dangers of impaired or distracted driving.

👉 Please avoid the area if possible
👉 Do not be alarmed by the emergency vehicles, sirens, or helicopter activity
👉 This is only a drill
