Last day to file for the Primary Election is Saturday, January 31, 2026. The Clerk's Office will be open for filing only from 8:30 - noon. Please come to side door (near Sheriff's Office) and call 304-257-4550. We will then let you in to complete your filing. Thank you.

In order to purchase a Marriage License -
đź“ś What You Need to Do:
Head to the County Clerk’s Office at 5 Highland Ave. Both of you must show up. Here’s the checklist:
• ID That Proves You are You: Driver’s license, passport, etc.
• Age Check: 18+ and you’re good to go.
Under 18? Bring a parent with a notarized note from parent.
• Divorce papers or end date of marriage if you’ve been married previously.
• Cost: $57.00 (card’s okay too). $37.00 if you’ve got a premarital counseling certificate.
• The Process: License is only good for 60 days. No blood tests or waiting period.
• Information for the license—parents’ full names, including mothers' maiden name, and where parents were born.
• You will receive license upon application, after the ceremony, return it to the Clerk within days, and congratulations—you’re legally married!

I feel relieved to have the election process completed. It was a long day with thankfully few bumps in the road. Grant County had the largest voter turnout statewide! I’m thankful for the many poll workers who showed up to ensure a great election experience. My staff deserves lots of credit and my full appreciation. You ladies rocked it! An oversight was discovered in the wording for the Excess Fire Levy. A $ was used in the levy amounts. It is confusing because the amounts reflected are in CENTS not dollars.

Although it is too late to reprint the ballots, it was decided to cover the incorrect information on the paper ballots with stickers that reflect the correct wording for the levy. The ExpressVote machines are being re-programmed with the corrected ballot.

The ballot will now read:
The additional levy shall be on Class I property 1.25 cents per $100.00 of assessed value; on Class II property 2.5 cents per $100.00 of assessed value and on Class III and IV property 5.0 cents per $100.00 of assessed value.

I apologize for this error and the confusion that it caused. Correcting the ballot has been my top priority this week. Thank you for your understanding.

Yesterday was my first official election. I’m happy to report it went very smoothly! I am so appreciative of all the poll workers! I’m thankful for a great staff who worked together for a successful election. I wish to congratulate all the winners. Have a blessed day!

I woke up early on Election Day. I so enjoyed watching the lunar eclipse. I then saw the gorgeous full moon rising that evening. It was a beautiful day to witness the changing moon. I sincerely thank all those who voted for me. Your support is appreciated. I’m excited for January 1st. I look forward to serving you.

Tomorrow is Election Day! As I reflect on the last few months, I am humbled, thankful and exhausted! When I filed to run for Grant County Clerk, I set a goal to reach every voter. Even though I have spent countless hours campaigning, I still wasn’t able to reach each of you. I apologize to those I missed.
I have met so many wonderful people. Some were old friends, and many are now new friends. I appreciate those who have allowed me to put signs on their property and stores. I also appreciate the kindness of those who offered food, drinks and warmth. The hospitality is second to none in our community! I am thankful for the constant support of my family. I am thankful to God for his protection, mercy and grace while traveling across this beautiful county.
My work ethic is outstanding. My 10 years of experience proves that I am qualified for this position. Please consider my experience, knowledge and qualifications when you vote tomorrow. Thank you!
