There will be an interruption of water service to customers in the following areas on June 2nd 2026. We are doing pump upgrades and repairs to Our North Fork Booster Station. We hope to have these repairs completed in a timely fashion to limit interruption to service connections.

Grant County Public Service District Fire Hydrant Flushing Notice

The Grant County PSD will begin water Fire Hydrant flushing in the Scherr area of Grant County. Crews are expected to begin flushing on May 12th 2026 between the hours of 8 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Crews will be in white work trucks with safety vests on so please be aware. Periodic fire hydrant flushing is necessary to purge the water distribution system of iron and manganese deposits that may have settled in the water mains over a long period of time. Although not harmful, these residues can discolor the water and lead to discolored laundry or stained plumbing fixtures. Flushing purges the water distribution system of these residues to assure high-quality water service and to ensure fire hydrants are operational.


Occasionally after system flushing is performed, the water may have a “white cloudy” or a “rusty” or orange discoloration. If tap water is discolored, the Grant County PSD recommends allowing several cold-water faucets to run for a short time until the water runs clear. Using more than one faucet allows the water to clear more quickly. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the Grant County PSD at 304-257-2377.
