Arctic Angels from the 11th Airborne Division bring electromagnetic warfare capabilities alongside Green Berets from 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) during Operation .

The BEAST+ gives SOF a man-packable direction-finding capability, while the MAMBA enables Arctic Angels to receive, record and transmit signals across the electromagnetic spectrum.

Together, these capabilities give SOF greater awareness and flexibility in the electromagnetic environment, adding another tactical edge to operations in the Arctic.

During Operation Polar Dagger, SOCNORTH partnered with the Alaska State Defense Force and City, Tribe, and Alaska Native village corporation to establish a high-frequency radio network across St. Lawrence Island.

Through hands-on training, equipment installation and community engagement in Savoonga and Gambell, SOCNORTH strengthened emergency communication capabilities and partnerships that enhance future crisis response and regional resilience across western Alaska.
