Today, we want to give a huge thank you to Milestone Church for stopping by the fire hall and bringing us a bag full of delicious treats as a thank-you for our service.

Yesterday I contacted Tory Duncan about giving us a quote to rake and grade the Fire Hall parking lot and the Park parking lot. They had both started to get pretty rough and were getting out of hand.
Tory’s response wasn’t a quote. Instead, he simply said, “Make sure the parking lot is clear in the next two days.”
Today Torys crew are out here fixing up both the Park and Fire Hall parking lots.
Tory does so much for our community behind the scenes that most people never see or hear about, and I didn’t want this act of generosity to go unnoticed.
Tory, thank you to you and your crew. We appreciate you more than you know.

🚒 The Cost of Protecting Our Firefighters 🚒

Take a look at how much the cost of outfitting a firefighter has changed in just a few years.

The price of keeping firefighters safe continues to climb. Every helmet, coat, pants, boots, gloves, hood, and SCBA is designed to protect us when we respond to emergencies—but that protection comes at a growing cost.

As equipment prices increase, fire departments face even greater challenges in providing every firefighter with the gear they need to do the job safely.

When you support your local fire department, you’re helping ensure firefighters have the equipment they need to serve and protect the community. So thank you all for the donations.

Over the next couple of weeks, our fire department will have inmates working around the station helping with some much-needed TLC and cleanup projects. They will also be cleaning up the creek bed around the park area.

Because of this, there may be some temporary brush piles around the park until everything can be safely burned off. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this work is being completed.

We are currently supplying food and drinks for the inmates and guards working in these hot conditions. If anyone would like to swing by and help out with drinks, snacks, or food, I know it would be greatly appreciated by them — and by us as well.

Just a reminder that roads in and around Petros are still very slick and in poor condition. Please use extreme caution if you must travel.

In the event of an emergency, we will do everything possible to get to you, but please understand that response times may be slightly delayed due to road conditions.

Your safety—and ours—matters. If you don’t have to be out, it’s best to stay put.
