🏆 Pflugerville ISD has been named a 2025-2026 Texas Way District of Distinction, one of only 39 school districts across Texas to earn this prestigious recognition!

The award, presented through the Play The Texas Way initiative, honors districts that demonstrate excellence in sportsmanship, character development, community involvement, and positive athletic experiences for students.

This recognition reflects the commitment of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, staff, families, and community members who work together to build a culture of respect, integrity, leadership, and excellence both on and off the field.

This is timely related to what I said on the dais at Thursday’s workshop. We have roughly the same amount of middle school students and elementary students now that we did at the end of the 2017 school year and since that time, the district opened one more middle school and three elementary schools. Population growth has changed from what was originally predicted, which is part of the reason why our optimization work has been necessary.

Boots and Roots, spent time last night celebrating 20 years of the Pflugerville Education Foundation, an organization I was part of for over a third of its history. Thankful to have this organization supporting our students and teachers.
