Congratulations to our Community Police Academy Class 37 graduates! 🎓🎉

Our dedicated graduates completed three months of hands-on learning about important law enforcement topics including investigations, dispatch communications, criminal law and more. The academy provides a valuable two-way learning experience in which the community learns how the police department works while the department gains insight into community perspectives and concerns. 🚓

During the graduation, we recognized Alfred Wright as the 2025 Community on Patrol (COP) Member of the Year! He is one of 30 COP volunteers who completed Community Police Academy and went on to serve through neighborhood patrols, event assistance, search efforts and community outreach.

We appreciate partnerships with our community members and value the time, support and dedication they bring to these programs.

📢 Our next Community Police Academy begins in early 2027. Learn more here: pflugervilletx.gov/409

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re proud to spotlight our team’s commitment to strengthening mental health in our community. 💪

Our Victim Services team provides compassionate and dignified emotional support, safety planning and resources to help people begin healing from some of the hardest moments of their lives. Their dedication and care make a meaningful difference every day.

As well, care begins at the call. All Pflugerville police officers receive crisis intervention and de‑escalation training, and 12 officers have gone even further to earn advanced mental health certifications. Having the specialized expertise of Mental Health Officers on every shift enables us to provide informed crisis response no matter when you call. 👮‍♂️

For Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re highlighting a team making a big difference in Pflugerville.💙

Pflugerville Police Officer Rico Collazo and Integral Care Licensed Professional Counselor Sebastian Bourgeois form the Co-Response team, which is part of the Pflugerville Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team (CIT). The Co-Response team responds to calls involving people experiencing mental health crises. They provide on‑scene assessments and connect people to services including emergency psychiatric care when safety is a concern, referrals to mental health providers and community‑based treatment such as case management and medication management. ✅

Since launching in March 2025, this co‑response model has helped decrease repeat mental health crisis calls by providing steady access to needed services. Thank you to Officer Collazo and Sebastian for your commitment to our community.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, Lake Pflugerville is open for public use. Your water conservation efforts continue to make a difference as we prepare for the next phase of critical water infrastructure improvements. This includes a two-week River Pump Station shutdown after the holiday to allow for waterline connections and system improvements.

During the shutdown, water levels will drop. We do not anticipate an impact on fishing or swimming, but visitors should use caution. Fishing piers will be closed if they become unstable and the boat ramp may become inaccessible.

We will continue to communicate changes in water levels and lake accessibility. Please keep in mind that water stages could be adjusted if lake levels or system conditions require it.

The chart reflects the conservation efforts of our water customers over the last 15 days and the positive impact the community continues to make as we prepare for this important next phase. The full water use chart is available on the City’s water restrictions website.

During National Police Week, we’ve been incredibly grateful for the support shown to the Pflugerville Police Department by our community. 💙

A special thank you to the Round Rock Express for hosting an amazing First Responders Night! Our officers and first responders from across Central Texas were honored throughout the evening, enjoyed a fun night at the ballpark and even got to see Chief Willie Richards throw out a pitch! ⚾👏

We’d also like to thank the incredible team at the Tru/Home2 Pflugerville hotel for their thoughtful surprise for our staff this week. They treated our department to delicious ice cream from Frios Gourmet Pops - Pflugerville!

We’re proud to serve with a community that stands with us.
