❤️ Thank You, Brotherton's Black Iron Barbecue.
Today, Brotherton’s Black Iron Barbecue will serve its customers for the final time, and this one hits close to home for Pflugerville.
Although Brotherton’s sits just outside our city limits, it has always felt like part of Pflugerville. John Brotherton loved this community, championed it everywhere he went, and helped put a spotlight on the food culture growing right here in Pflugerville.
More importantly, Pflugerville loved John right back.
Over the past year, several city officials had the privilege of talking with the Brotherton family about whether there might be a path to bring the restaurant inside our city limits. Community leaders even expressed interest in finding them a home in Downtown East. But we also understand and respect the family’s decision that it is time to close this chapter.
When our Executive Director joined PCDC last year, he quickly learned just how much Brotherton’s meant to this community, our City Council, and the PCDC Board. It was bigger than barbecue. It was family, memories, conversations, laughter, and community. Jerry fell in love with the Brisket Boudin😫!
Nine years. Countless meals. Countless memories. And a legacy that will remain long after the doors close today.
To the Brotherton family and the entire team: thank you. We love you. We appreciate you. And Pflugerville will miss you. ❤️
John would be proud.
Now, Pflugerville, there’s only one thing left to do…
Go help them sell out one last time.
“Show up late, lose weight!”
