The first week of the river pump shutdown is complete, and one week to go! We are on schedule to turn the pumps back on June 10, pending weather delays or other unforeseen circumstances.🚰

The City is not currently pumping water into Lake Pflugerville. However, we continue to treat and deliver water to customers. As a result, lake levels will continue to drop during the shutdown. As of yesterday, the water elevation at Lake Pflugerville is 634.6 feet.

If daily customer use remains around four million gallons, we expect the lake level to decline minimally and for normal recreational activities to continue.

Crews expect to receive materials to repair the existing 30-inch raw waterline this week. We will be able to transition from the temporary bypass waterline to the 42-inch secondary raw waterline when that construction project is complete this summer.

This morning, the City shut down water flow from the Colorado River to Lake Pflugerville as part of necessary, scheduled maintenance to complete system improvements at the river pump station.

The shutdown is expected to last through June 10, 2026, pending weather delays or other unforeseen circumstances. No water is currently being pumped into Lake Pflugerville, but water treatment for customers continues. As a result, you may notice the lake level drop. If daily customer use remains around four million gallons per day, as shown in the chart, we expect the decline in the lake level to be minimal and for normal recreational activities to continue.

Continue to follow modified Stage 1 water conservation measures to help us protect our primary water supply source and the water treatment plant.
