As I mentioned yesterday, New Zealand celebrated its very first Matariki public holiday yesterday, marking the New Year for the indigenous Maori population. Here is a reflection from a Maori journalist on how the Matariki stars (the seven sisters) mark this event.

I find it interesting that on the very same day in the USA, Juneteenth is celebrated as a public holiday...New beginnings all around...

Time is Running Out!

It is time to renew your membership in the Williamson County Toastmaster’s Club.

This will be for the 04/2022 through 09/2022 dues period and is due at Toastmasters International no later than Mar. 30, 2022. There is an incentive if we can submit 75% of the club members' dues by Mar. 15th. So don't delay, renew today.

If payment is not accepted and processed by Mar. 30, 2022, you will lose access to the base camp on the T.I. portal.

Payment methods:

1) You may mail a check or money order to 19508 Sangremon Way Pflugerville, Texas 78660 made out to "Williamson County Toastmasters" for $54.00 (T.I.& Club). The Treasurer will send the $45.00 portion to T.I.

Please confirm with David Gunn via email that you have chosen this method and the date you have sent the payment.

2) We do have a PayPal account which is the preferred method. Please use the following linkPayPal.me/WilcoTM. Pay $54.00 (T.I.& Club), the Treasurer will send $45.00 to T.I.

*There will be no fee to you to use this. However, please use the following instructions*

Select “sending to a friend”
If you select “goods or services” there will be a fee charged to the club
Pay with a checking account.
If you pay with a credit card there will be a fee charged to you.

3) Officers may still pay their own T.I. dues online if they choose to, but must get the $9.00 club dues to the Treasurer separately.

It's that time again. No, I am not referring to taxes. As you may be aware semi-annual dues of $54 (45 Toastmasters International and $9 Club Dues) are now being accepted. Our club is striving for on-time credit in the Distinguished Club Program, so please submit all payments on or before April 1, 2022. As an additional reminder, the minimum membership requirement for a club to remain in good standing is eight members—at least three of whom must be renewing from the previous membership period. Easy and efficient payment processing options are as follows:

Member Highlight: Jayshree Patel

Jayshree Patel is currently the President of Williamson County Toastmasters club. She has effectively used Toastmasters to improve her public speaking skills, hone her leadership skills, and to make lasting connections with others. Outside of Toastmasters, Jayshree is the CEO and Founder of Ripple Press LLC an independent publishing company. Through story telling and collaboration, she is making an impact on all the things she cares about: families, children, the environment, and raising thriving human beings in an ever-changing world.

As we move right into November, I really hope you all received more treats than tricks on Halloween. Just wanted to give an update on our Nightmare on Evaluation Street, We had a Spooktacular Time. For those that were unable to attend, no worries. We have meetings on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Monday of the month @ 6:15. We hope to see you there.
