It's time for our Berta Palacios Elementary Pumpkin Decorating Contest! 🐗💙💚

Get ready to bring your favorite BOOK CHARACTER to life using a pumpkin! 📖🎨 Let your imagination shine and show us your creativity!

🎃 Contest Guidelines:
📚 Decorate a real or artificial pumpkin as your favorite book character.
🚫 No carving allowed!
⭐ One entry per student.

🏆 Two Competition Categories:
🎃 Pre-K through 2nd Grade
🎃 3rd through 5th Grade

📅 Pumpkins Due: Wednesday, October 28, 2026

A big thank-you to our wonderful school counselor, Mrs. Gonzalez, for hosting a Counselor’s Café for our parents this morning! We appreciate her dedication to creating opportunities for our families to connect, ask questions, share concerns, and learn about the resources available to support their children’s success.

Pharr Parks & Recreation is accepting registrations for:

⚽ Boys Soccer: Kinder–6th grade
🏀 Girls Basketball: 2nd–6th grade, with a coed division for Kinder–1st grade
⚾ Winter Baseball: 4U, 6U, and 8U divisions

📅 Regular registration: October 12–November 12
💲 Registration fee: $50
📍 Register in person at 1011 W. Kelly Ave., Pharr, TX 78577, or scan the QR code on the flyer for your sport.

🏀⚾ Volunteer coaches are also needed for basketball and baseball!

Berta Palacios Elementary will be hosting a Flu Shot Vaccine Clinic for all students and staff!

⏰ 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

💚 FREE for those with insurance
💙 $7 per vaccine for those without insurance
