Just in time for Christmas! 🎁🎄 Traffic lights were raised once again on Main Street Phelps today, as another 200,000 pound condenser for a nuclear submarine traveled through the village on its way to the Naval Submarine Base in Connecticut. 🇺🇸

**SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT**
The Town of Phelps is excited to announce that we have been chosen as one of the many recipients of the Genesee Valley Rural Revitalization (GVRR) Grant Round 2 Awardees! The grant money will go towards improvements to our beautiful and historic Town Hall building that is located in the very heart of Phelps! This also includes the restoration of the clock tower which so many of you have asked whether it will be reinstalled.
Yes, it will!

Our portion of the award announcement reads as follows:

Town of Phelps (Ontario County): The Town of Phelps will receive $50,000 for roof repairs and upgrades to the Phelps Town Hall, which was constructed ca. 1849 and is listed on the State/National Registers of Historic Places. A portion of the grant will be used to reinstall the clock/bell tower, which has been undergoing restoration and rehabilitation.

See the full announcement here:

https://parks.ny.gov/newsroom/press-releases/release.aspx?r=1819

This project is supported through a grant from the Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grants Program as administered by the National Park Service, Department of the Interior and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

The Genesee Valley Rural Revitalization (GVRR) Grant Program is a subgrant program that is administered in partnership between the Landmark Society of Western NY and the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. However, the initial funding to create this subgrant program comes from the Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grants Program, administered by the National Park Service.

11/30/2022

Division On Addictions is an organization that helps vulnerable New York residents who are addicted to drugs or alcohol locate proper treatment options. Alcoholism and drug addiction are terrible crises affecting all ages in our communities – from teenagers to senior citizens.
Finding treatment facilities that are able to understand the underlying causes of the addiction, and that are able to cure an individual so as to prevent any relapse, is often a very hard task. This is where we come in. We help those in greatest need to find addiction treatment options that are the best for each individual situation. Our services are 100% free.
Addiction is a problem that is affecting millions of people in the U.S. Finding the right addiction treatment center is essential in order to combat and beat addiction. Division On Addictions was created to help with locating local rehab centers. We provide a nationwide listing of nearly 14,000 drug and alcohol rehabs across the U.S. Here is what makes us different:
• We do our best to make sure that our rehab center listings are accurate and complete. We do not favor any particular rehab over another, and we do not feature any rehabs in our listings.
• We provide full information on all services that each rehab center offers, including medication assisted treatment, treatment for co-occurring disorders and more.
• We make all contact information readily available, including a rehab center’s address and phone number, so that you can easily contact the rehab you are interested in and make an informed decision on whether it is the right addiction treatment solution for your particular situation and needs.
• We provide robust search functionality that enables you to find rehabs by city, county and zip code
• We provide a convenient listing of rehabs that are near the ones you are considering, so you can find a local addiction treatment center that works for you.
Start on your path to sobriety today. Fight addiction by enrolling in one of the rehab centers.

Moderna ages 18+: https://tinyurl.com/yryumpwm

Why get the bivalent booster?
The updated (bivalent) boosters are called “bivalent” because they protect against both the original virus that causes COVID-19 and the Omicron variant.
CDC recommends that people ages 5 years and older receive one updated (bivalent) booster if it has been at least 2 months since their last COVID-19 vaccine dose, whether that was:
• Their final primary series dose, or
• An original (monovalent) booster
• People who have gotten more than one original (monovalent) booster are also recommended to get an updated (bivalent) booster.
Please boost and test BEFORE the holidays!
