Please keep the family of Elder Johnny B. Rutledge in your thoughts and prayers. Elder Rutledge confessed Christ and joined the St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church at an early age, was recognized as the "Boy of the Year" for the AME 9th Episcopal District in 1966 and went on to hold several leadership positions as a Lay Person, Preacher, and retired as the Presiding Elder of the Phenix City District in 2024. He is a former Pastor of the St. John AME Church, Fort Mitchell, Alabama and Elder Rutledge was the first person to make the proclamation that the St. John AME Church is located in "Downtown" Fort Mitchell.

His Celebration of Life and Legacy service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST, Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at St. John A.M.E. Church, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Rev. Dr. Isaac N. Hudson, Jr., Pastor, officiating and Presiding Elder Eugene Marshall, eulogist.

Public viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday, August 10, 2026 at Taylor Funeral Home.

Using the wrong one can be dangerous.
Here's a quick guide
Water (Red Label) - For Class A fires (wood, paper, cloth)
Foam (Cream Label) - For Class A & B fires (flammable liquids)
Dry Powder (Blue Label) - Multi-purpose; for Class A, B, C
COz (Black Label) - For electrical fires and flammable liquids
Wet Chemical (Yellow Label) - For kitchen fires (Class Foils, fats)
Always check the label before use!
Never use water on electrical or oil fires!
Fire safety starts with the right knowledge and the right equipment. Stay alert. Stay safe.

As we prepare for a new school year, we’re proud to support our local students and families by giving away free school supplies while supplies last.

🕕 Time: 6:00 PM until supplies are gone
📍 Location: 283 Highway 165, Mt. Olive Fire Department

Supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage everyone to arrive early.
