The Phenix City Police Department would like to congratulate Cpl. Michael Harrison and Office Manager Angela Harrison on their retirement after an incredible 25 years of dedicated service to the City of Phenix City and the Phenix City Police Department.

👏 Congratulations to Sgt. J. Silva and Sgt. T. Pell! 👏

Today, Sgt. Jose Silva and Sgt. Tommy Pell were each presented with a Certificate of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding investigative work.

Both investigators were recognized for their efforts in solving a robbery case in Phenix City that initially began with very few leads. Through their persistence, teamwork, and hard work, Sgt. Silva and Sgt. Pell were able to develop the case and ultimately identify and apprehend two offenders.

Their dedication and determination are a great example of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to bring cases to a successful conclusion.

This morning, we were proud to recognize Officer L. Greenslate with a Certificate of Commendation for her actions on July 4, 2026.

While conducting her regular patrol duties, Officer Greenslate discovered an individual suffering from debilitating injuries and immediately took action to ensure the person received the help they needed.

Officer Greenslate’s attentiveness, compassion, and dedication to serving our community exemplify what it means to be a Phenix City Police Officer.

Today, Chief Weierick officially swore in Officer Gabe Traverzo as he takes the next step in his law enforcement career!

Officer Traverzo has been a valued member of the Phenix City Police Department for nearly a year, serving as a Police Cadet. During his time in the Cadet Program, he has worked hard, gained valuable experience, and demonstrated his commitment to a career in law enforcement.
Now, Officer Traverzo is preparing to attend the Police Academy, where he will continue building the skills and knowledge needed to serve our community.

We are proud to have Officer Traverzo as part of the PCPD family and are excited to watch him continue to learn, grow, and succeed in his new role.

As we prepare for the new school year, we’re excited to introduce another one of our School Resource Officers!

Sgt. Issan Duke will be serving as the School Resource Officer at South Girard School this year.

Sgt. Duke has been with the Phenix City Police Department since 2016 and is committed to building positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff while helping provide a safe learning environment.
