Nick Burnett, his wife Lauren, and their golden retriever Maize have called Roxborough home since July 2025. They love long family walks down Ridge Ave, ice cream runs to C & C Creamery , splashing around in the water at Wissahickon Park, and of course, playing with Maize ... and meeting other neighbors at Gorgas Park. The York Street Hustle returns to Gorgas Park next Thursday August 20th for the 4th straight year as part of Gorgas Park’s Annual Summer Concert Series.

The soulful band is renowned in the Philadelphia area for its blend of male and female vocals - and for its large band featuring cool horns and keyboards, scintillating drums and funky guitars.

York Street Hustle features songs by music legends Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and the Four Tops.  Other outstanding musical artists covered include Donny Hathaway, Arthur Conley and Betty Everett.  All of the band’s song renderings are exciting live - and in person.

In a few short years York Street Hustle has gone from filling tiny South Street bars to repeat sell outs at WXPN’s popular World Cafe Live.

York Street Hustle is the Northeast’s premier 10-piece 1960s soul tribute band.

At Gorgas Park in Roxborough- they are simply one of the most popular groups to ever perform.

Come to the park next Thursday to witness their show at Gorgas Park’s Gazebo - if you have not seen their excellent act before.

For those who have been in attendance the past 3 years, you know what amazing music is in store.

THE FABULOUS SID MILLER DANCE BAND: A BENEFIT NIGHT FOR YOUNG CP WARRIOR SIDNEY SCHMID!

Sid Miller Dance Band brought an exciting show to Gorgas Park last night. Their amazing singing and playing thrilled the audience, who were inspired to donate over $500 to SIDNEY, the young boy from the neighborhood who is receiving expensive therapy so he can lead a healthy life. SIDNEY was overjoyed to be with his parents, seeing the Top 40 Hit tunes from the 1960’s to today performed by the dazzling band.

The successful 2026 entertainment season at Gorgas Park is culminating this August & September. Mark the shows on your calendar & please support CP Warrior Sidney!

At the biggest concert of the year, tomorrow, Thursday, August 6, 7PM-9PM, we can help one of our neighbors in their battle against cerebral palsy. Friends of Gorgas Park will donate the proceeds from a 50/50 drawing to Sidney's cause.

It was a great opening night for Parks on Tap with Councilmember Curtis Jones, Jr. and his Summer Jazz Concert.

Our apologies as we received an overwhelming number of messages about admission fees, etc.

Here are a couple of clarifications to answer those questions.

All Gorgas Park concerts are free admission. If you'd like to donate to support the park and these events you can do so here: https://www.gorgaspark.com/donate/

For special events like "Parks on Tap" there can be admission or food and drink for purchase, SEPARATELY from the free concert.

These special events require permits for alcohol and enclosed areas, which are obtained by the vendors.

All other events, like concerts, follow the park and recreation rules for parks.

Curtis Jones Jr held his annual Summer Jazz Concert at Gorgas Park in Roxborough PA , entertaining loyal regulars and the Parks on Tap crowd for a high energy evening that had Roxborough buzzing. President of Friends of Gorgas Park, John Boyce, received a commendation from the Councilman for his 30 years of dedication to making the park beautiful and full of events.

The award-winning Sid Miller Dance Band has performed its high energy music for over 25 years - entertaining the likes of President Joe Biden and George W. Bush, as well as local SNL star Tina Fey and many others who have enjoyed their music at Weddings.

Top 40 Hits from the 60’s thru to current hits are on the Playlist.

The 12 member band features fabulous vocals, a 4-piece Brass Section, Bongos & Percussion, a fabulous Drummer who sings, a lead guitar player and bass player.

They will provide their own spectacular sound at Gorgas Park.

Philly.com rates Sid Miller Dance Band as one of the best in the TriState Area.

Bring the Family. Bring your Friends. The Show takes place at Gorgas Park’s beautiful Gazebo.

This is a free concert to the Public. Arrive with lawn chairs and blankets. There is ample space in the park to enjoy the Dazzling Vocals and Musicianship of the Sid Miller Band.
