Work with talented fiber artists to create a community art piece that is reflective of the Bustleton Library community then and now. This is a Hyperlocal Heritage Program.

Most Free Library locations will close at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, and will remain closed through the weekend in observance of Independence Day.

Twelve neighborhood libraries will serve as Cooling Centers, open 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day through Sunday, July 5.

All Free Library locations will close at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, and will remain closed through Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Normal hours will resume at all locations on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

When do you feel free to say what you really think? How do you experience free expression in your own life? Knight Foundation and Cortico are convening 45+ small-group conversations across 10 cities--and Philadelphia is one of them. They want to hear from people who don't usually get asked. Your perspective helps shape a national record.

This isn't a debate or a survey. It's a relaxed, recorded conversation at Bustleton Library with a small group of 4–6 people from our community (you can use a pseudonym; you can pass on any question). We'll provide some snacks and drinks.

The conversation will take place on Thursday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. Please email [email protected] or call 215-685-0472 for more information and to register.
