In April of 2024, I met Mamie when I notarized some estate planning documents for her. At the time, she was about to turn 102 years young.
What I remember most about that visit with her was the love of her family present at the time. You could feel it in the room and in everything they said and did on behalf of their Mamie.
I’ve gotten to know Mamie and a handful of her family members in the last two years.
As trust has built along with the deepening relationships, several members of her family have required my services along with those of one of my trusted Estate Planning attorney colleagues, John Morabito.
With John’s assistance, other members of Mamie’s family have gotten their Estate planning documents executed. They’ve gained peace of mind as a result. It’s gratifying to be a small part in that process.
Last week, Mamie reached the age of 104! It’s an incredible milestone for sure. It’s even more remarkable that Mamie calmly told me that she’s got “no aches or pains”.
She laments that she requires the use of a walker to help her get around. Her loving family is always taking turns coming to stay with her to make sure she’s doing well.
Mamie’s wonderful sense of humor is in full force as she tells me that she’d like them all to leave and give her some space!!
Here’s to a wonderful 105th year filled with love and laughter!
