⛳🏡 $130,000 raised to help Philadelphia families build brighter futures!

We're blown away by the success of the 5th Annual Charity Golf Outing hosted by LEM Capital and Berkadia, which raised an incredible $130,000 toward Habitat Philadelphia's mission. This achievement was made possible by the generosity of everyone who participated, sponsored, and supported the event.

Every dollar raised directly supports our work alongside families, helping create opportunities for safe, stable, and affordable homeownership.

Check out the transformation at our 17th Street rehab home! 👀⬇️

This summer, volunteers have worked alongside Habitat Philadelphia staff and future homeowners to help bring safe, affordable housing to life.

A major recent milestone: the installation of a new insulated TPO roof! Once finished, this property will feature three two-bedroom, one-bathroom condominiums.

We're grateful to everyone who has helped make this progress possible and look forward to the next construction updates, including fire protection, insulation, and more.

A safe, affordable home should be within reach for every family.

New reporting from Philadelphia Inquirer highlights the urgency of Pennsylvania's housing shortage and the need for investments that help families stay in their homes.

As Carrie Rathmann, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for Habitat Philadelphia, shared:

“We see every day at Habitat that the impact [of affordable housing] is real, it’s tangible, it crosses different sectors. Kids can get to school and do better. Seniors are healthier. People are healthier, people feel less stressed. They have more money in their pocket for medication and food.”

Progress continues on our 17th street rehab site! Last month, volunteers came out to support framing and insulation, parging, and debris removal.

This property has undergone many changes over the past several months, and we're excited for the day it becomes a safe, affordable home for three families later this year.

More than 30 volunteers joined us outside Lowe's in Northeast Philadelphia for a hands-on day of building community to celebrate Habitat for Humanity's 50th anniversary and its 20-year partnership with Lowe's Home Improvement.

Together, veterans, families, and neighbors assembled, sanded, and stained Adirondack chairs that will soon be gifted to families in our homeownership program.

Thank you to everyone who dedicated their time and energy to this special event, and to Lowe's for its incredible partnership and longstanding support for affordable housing in Philadelphia.

Recently, members of our newest homeowner cohort volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia ReStore, assembling couches that will soon find new homes while supporting Habitat's programs.

We're proud to be working alongside these future homeowners and can't wait to see them continue moving toward first-time homeownership. 🏠💙

New research from Habitat for Humanity found that homeowners in Habitat's programs:
✅ Build stronger credit
✅ Accumulate more savings
✅ Are less likely to experience foreclosure
✅ Feel more optimistic about their future

One Habitat homeowner says, "Every time I make a mortgage payment, we're one step closer to having a place nobody can take from us. And that's a form of wealth you can't count."
