Metsä is back in Philadelphia, bringing significant cargo volume and steady business to our waterfront.

The major Finnish paper company’s return is expected to bring approximately 260,000 metric tons of cargo annually through Penn Warehousing at PhilaPort’s Forest Products Center. The service is projected to support 560 jobs and generate $54.6 million in economic output.

“Forest products are one of PhilaPort’s core strengths, and we’re excited to welcome a major company like Metsä back to Philadelphia,” said PhilaPort CEO Rich Lazer. “We look forward to working with our partners at Metsä and Penn Warehousing to make this service a success for both the Port and the region.”
