Ten housing counseling agencies have joined Democracy Defenders in a lawsuit challenging the rescission. An initial temporary court-ordered pause is in place while the case proceeds, but the legal challenge is ongoing.

Shared equity homeownership and Home Equity Investments (HEIs) are often being grouped together — but they are not the same thing, and understanding the differences is critical for housing counselors and the clients they serve.

Join NHRC for an upcoming webinar exploring:
✔️ What shared equity homeownership actually means
✔️ How affordability-focused models are working in communities across the country
✔️ The key differences between shared equity and HEIs
✔️ Why these distinctions matter for prospective homebuyers and homeowners exploring alternative financing options

As nontraditional homeownership products continue to expand, housing counselors need practical, accurate information to help clients make informed decisions with confidence.

If you work with homebuyers, homeowners, or clients seeking affordable homeownership solutions, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
