It’s a privilege to memorialize a dedicated brother for his Masonic service while showcasing the beauty of his Masonic regalia in the Exhibit Hall.

Brother Kenneth "Ken" Bleiler was a 65-year member of Frankford-Brown Lodge No. 751, which meets at the Tacony Masonic Temple with Tacony Lodge No 600 F & A M and Jerusalem Lodge No. 506 F. & A. M. He served as Lodge Secretary for eight years and Worshipful Master for one year before becoming District Deputy Grand Master for Masonic District D and then the Grand Lodge Almoner. He passed away in June 2025.

He and his wife, Elaine, helped establish the Bleiler Caring Cottage, a home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that is part of the Masonic Villages.

Similar to our Masonic Temple, the United Grand Lodge of England's Freemasons' Hall is a Masonic architectural masterpiece - a travel destination for Masons and non-Masons alike.

This lithograph from the Masonic Library and Museum archives depicts one of the Hall's meeting rooms as it would have appeared in the mid-1820s. During this period, Sir John Soames, the Grand Superintendent of Works, remodeled much of the old Freemasons' Hall, but those spaces were demolished when the current building was rebuilt and expanded in the 1920s and 30s.

Have you ever visited Freemasons' Hall?

Philadelphia Phillies fans and Freemasons alike mourned the recent passing of Brother Larry Christenson, 33˚, Thomson Lodge No. 340, Paoli.

The former Phillies pitcher was raised as a Mason at sight in 2001 by R.W. Grand Master Brother Robert L. Dluge, Elysburg Lodge No. 414. This special designation from the Grand Master is typically bestowed on men who have made a significant impact on society.

Brother Larry was well-known for his charitable endeavors and his support of the Masonic Charities of Pennsylvania, including the Masonic Temple, Masonic Children’s Home of Pennsylvania and Masonic Villages. Topps/Topps Dugout baseball cards from his playing days and photos from Masonic functions are currently on display in the Exhibit Hall.

A "Shadow of Intention" fell over the Masonic Temple this summer when The Cora di Brazzà Foundation returned to host its 2026 Memory Parlor with this theme in Oriental Hall!

A memory parlor is an interdisciplinary, intergenerational and international space where narratives of peace, human dignity, law, history and philosophy connect. This year's featured speakers included faculty from Gwynedd Mercy University, West Chester University of PA and Central Michigan University and Brother Clifton Truman Daniel, 33˚, Oriental Lodge No. 33, Grand Lodge of Illinois, the grandson of President Harry Truman, M.W. Past Grand Master, Grand Lodge of Missouri.

A rare folio of Violet Oakley's mural cycle from the Pennsylvania State Capitol, "The Holy Experiment," was also displayed in the Grand Ballroom. She was the first female artist to receive a U.S. capitol building commission. (Brother J. Murray Gibson, Mozart Lodge No. 436 - Public Page, who did much of the decorative painting at the Temple, also has possible uncredited work in the PA Capitol.)

The Cora Di Brazzà Foundation will be back next summer for their 2027 Memory Parlor, "Reverence Across Time" on July 21-22. For updates, sign up for

Today is the first official Oregon Freemasonry Heritage Day, celebrating the 175th anniversary of the founding of their Grand Lodge.

The Grand Lodge of Missouri chartered Oregon's first Masonic Lodge in Oregon. The Masons of California chartered two additional lodges. Members of these three lodges met and established what became the Grand Lodge of Oregon. The newly established Oregon Freemasonry Heritage Day, signed into law by a proclamation from the governor's office, recognizes this historic occasion and all Oregon
Masons have done to make lives better for people in their state.

Oregon is one of the 38 states represented around the Masonic Temple's Grand Staircase. We look forward to celebrating 300 years of Pennsylvania Freemasonry in 2031!
