Marion County R-2 Fire Department and First Responders Our FD serves a district that covers in e Our department consists of Fire Fighters as well as Parmedics, EMT's, & First Responders.

Marion County R-II Firefighters and First Responders are based out of Philadelphia,MO and cover the Marion County R-II School District minus some portions of the northern area which are covered by the R4 District. Marion County R2 Fire Department and First Responders

Established in 1984, the Marion County R-II Firefighters and First Responders are based out of Philadelphia,MO and cover the Marion

County R-II School District minus some portions of the northern area which are covered by the R4 District. Our FD serves a district that covers in excess of 104 (mostly rural) square miles not including the additional areas covered under our Mutual Aid agreements. We are 100% volunteer based, with no payments made to our crews of any sort. We operate solely on membership dues, fundraisers, and whenever available, grant money. We have no tax base or city/county budget to rely on, so that's where the property owners come in. We charge a membership fee to be covered by our services, if the property owner is a member, they are covered 100% for any calls that we have to make to their property. Our yearly dues (March to March) run as follows:

1. Basic Membership (Includes Coverage for up to (1) Residence and contiguous land ...$60
2. Additional residence owned by due paying member...............................................$30
3. Additional property without residence separated by a roadway.............................$15

It is imperative that all controlled burns are called into 911. If you are not a due paying member and we are called to your property our billing rates are as follows:

1. $500 to leave the station
2. $100 per hour per vehicle on scene. We do not charge these fees as punishment; it is merely an effort to recoup some of our cost for fuel/supplies and to keep our equipment in good working condition.

We completed two outstanding training sessions this month. The first training session concentrated on standard pump operations using our primary truck, and the second session polished our pumping and drafting skills on our pumper/ tanker, featuring a mock structure fire training exercise.
