Our annual Summer Community Picnics are returning this year!

These free family-friendly gatherings are a great opportunity for neighbors to come together, enjoy food, games, entertainment, and connect with local organizations and resources. We’ll also be giving away backpacks and school supplies to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.

I look forward to seeing families from across the district join us for a fun-filled summer tradition that celebrates community and helps ensure our children start the school year ready to succeed.

Today we celebrate the women who keep families together, show up when it matters most, and give love, guidance, and strength even on the hardest days. Mothers are often the heart of our homes, neighborhoods, and communities.

To every mom, grandmother, aunt, guardian, and mother figure — we thank you for all that you do, often without recognition. We hope today brings you a little extra joy, appreciation, and time surrounded by the people who love you most.
