What does security look like for Jewish congregations and organizations in 2026 and beyond? Earlier this month, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia hosted the Bucks County Security Summit to answer that question.

Over 45 staff and leaders from Bucks County synagogues and organizations heard from the Jewish Federation, Secure Community Network and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office Hate Crimes Unit. Participants walked away with actionable strategies to keep their communities safe.

When Daniel Zahn dreamed of immersing himself in Jewish learning and culture, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia helped turn that dream into reality. Thanks to the Morton Stein Scholarship Fund for Orthodox Yeshivot in Israel, Daniel was able to travel to Israel and deepen his connection to Judaism.

“The scholarship was what made it possible for me to forgo an income for a few months and go to Israel to get this incredible experience,” Daniel said.

This scholarship is provided through the Jewish Community Foundation, a branch of the Jewish Federation committed to providing top-tier, customized planned giving services to individuals, families and Jewish institutions.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is relieved by this week's decision to detain Professor Guangtian Ha pending trial on federal cyberstalking charges. According to the indictment, Ha allegedly sent about 50 threatening and antisemitic messages over more than seven months to a member of the Haverford College community.

The ruling sends a clear message: Antisemitic threats made online are real threats, and they carry real consequences. Law enforcement and the courts will treat them with the seriousness they deserve.
