Marsha P. Johnson's legend is larger than life. The ""mayor of Christopher Street"" was an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ rights. She was one of the prominent figures in the Stonewall uprising of 1969 and later on an AIDS activist in the late 80s. Between that time, Marsha lived unapologetically in the streets of Greenwich Village until her untimely death in 1992.

Today, we remember her life and honor her legacy every day.

Today is Transgender Flag Day! The Transgender Pride Flag was created by Monica Helms in August 1999 and was first flown at the Phoenix Pride Parade in 2000. Each color carries meaning: light blue represents boys, pink represents girls, and white represents people who are transitioning, intersex, or identify as nonbinary or gender-neutral. A powerful symbol of visibility, pride, and inclusion, the original Transgender Pride Flag is now part of the collection at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, DC.

Cole Felton (they/he) is a sustainability-forward multimedia artist and fashion designer, with much of their work focusing on the creative reuse of textiles and fibers, intending to breathe new life into secondhand materials. Since graduating from Temple University with a degree in Political Science, Cole has dedicated their professional career to community advocacy and equitable renewable energy development to benefit their local environment and the communities residing within it.
