Face to Face Germantown At Face to Face, struggling families, low-income individuals and people experiencing homelessness are welcomed and treated with dignity and respect.

Our goal is to meet basic human needs and reduce suffering. Face to Face is a human services organization which provides free meals, nurse-managed health care, legal and social services, private shower facilities, computer training, and creative arts studios. Focusing on the power of human connection, Face to Face creates encounters of hospitality, mutuality, and transformation in the Germantown community. Face to Face was incorporated in 1996, and is headquartered in East Germantown, Philadelphia.

Team building that makes a difference! Today, 40 staff members from Centri Consulting participated in a company day of service at Face to Face. Centri sponsored and packed 200 hygiene kits, 60 to-go lunches, and made care cards. We are so grateful for their generosity, time and talent!

Our Closet in Your Neighborhood hosted a pop-up clothing shop in our parking lot. OCIYN is a mobile unit that provides clothing, shoes and accessories to multiple communities.
This year OCIYN collaborated with Vetri Community Partnership and Carversville Farm to bring fresh produce to the community. Vetri distributed sample size chick pea and carrot salad and Carversville distributed peppers, kale, onions and other vegetables.

A crisis becomes a community response. After a devastating fire damaged the neighboring property and severely impacted Nicole’s home, a network of public, nonprofit, faith-based, and community partners came together to help her family return to a safe place to live.

Under the leadership of Urban Resources Development Corporation, Face to Face was happy to collaborate with Rebuilding Together, St. Vincent’s, Mishschom Shalom, Habitat for Humanity, Philadelphia Department of Health and Senator Art Hayward’s office to restore Nicole’s home.

We are so grateful to a group of students from St. John’s University who volunteered at Face to Face last week. Thanks to them, our toiletry supply closet looks amazing. We have an office completely uncluttered of dated files and old paint is on its way to environmental disposal.
Their visit was an affirmation of a younger generation’s interest and commitment to the world around them!

The Face to Face Legal Team secures its first life-changing pardon. Having a criminal record in your past can block opportunities long into the future, limiting access to jobs, mortgages, financial aid, and more. Face to Face Legal Center Staff Attorney represented a client and filed an application for clemency on their behalf. After a hearing before the Board of Pardons, the Board voted unamimously that the client should be recommended for a full pardon. Governor Shapiro granted them pardon for a criminal offense committed almost thirty years ago.
