Yesterday, a resident of Lower Moreland Township stopped by our Bryn Athyn station with two defective smoke detectors. Members of our A Platoon responded to the resident's home, removed the faulty units, and installed two new smoke detectors that were provided by Fetters Mill Fire Rescue.

This is just one example of the many community safety services our members provide beyond emergency response. Working smoke detectors are one of the most important tools for protecting your family and providing early warning in the event of a fire.

We are proud to serve our community and help keep our residents safe, one home at a time.

If you have questions about smoke detector placement, testing, or home fire safety, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

On this Memorial Day, Fetters Mill Fire Rescue pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Freedom is not free. It is carried forward by the courage of those who never returned home, and by the families who carry their memory every day. Today, we stand in gratitude for their service, their sacrifice, and their unwavering commitment to something greater than themselves.

As firefighters and first responders, we understand the weight of duty and the bond of service. We are humbled to stand in that same spirit of commitment—serving our community with honor, integrity, and respect for those who came before us.

To the fallen heroes: you are not forgotten.
To the families left behind: you are in our thoughts today and always.
To all who serve: past, present, and future—we thank you.

May we never lose sight of the cost of the freedoms we enjoy, and may we strive every day to be worthy of them.

Yesterday, the Montgomery County Commissioners formally honored the seventeen 9-1-1 EMS squads that serve communities across the county through an official proclamation recognizing their dedication, professionalism, and service.

Representing the Montgomery County Ambulance Association, executive officers were present for the recognition, including our own Bryn Athyn station Chief Kenneth Schauder, who serves as Secretary of the Association.

Fetters Mill Fire Rescue is proud to stand alongside our partner agencies in this system of care. Every day, these 9-1-1 squads answer the call without hesitation—providing critical prehospital care, comfort in crisis, and a lifeline when it matters most.

We extend our appreciation to the Montgomery County Commissioners for acknowledging the vital work being done by EMS professionals throughout the county, and to all of the squads represented for their unwavering commitment to our residents.

Yesterday, Fetters Mill Fire Rescue members visited the Bryn Athyn community for an important outreach event at the Bryn Athyn Church Preschool.

Chief Schauder and FF/AEMT Armentrout from our Bryn Athyn station provided a hands-on presentation for the preschool students, helping introduce them to fire safety, emergency response basics, and the role firefighters and EMS personnel play in keeping the community safe.

The presentation focused on age-appropriate safety education, including what to do in an emergency, how to recognize first responders, and reducing fear of fire and rescue equipment through familiarization.

We appreciate the Bryn Athyn Church Preschool for welcoming us and supporting fire safety education for their students. Community outreach like this is an important part of our mission, and we are proud to invest time in building relationships and preparedness with our youngest community members.

🚑💙 Happy EMS Week! 💙🚑

During EMS Week, we proudly recognize and celebrate all Emergency Medical Services providers across our nation who answer the call to help others, day or night, in all conditions, and often at great personal sacrifice.

A special thank you goes out to the dedicated career and volunteer EMS professionals of our Bryn Athyn station. Your commitment to this profession is nothing short of extraordinary. You work long hours, respond without hesitation, and routinely miss holidays, family gatherings, birthdays, and important life events so that others can receive care when they need it most.

Whether on the ambulance, in the station, or standing by for the next call, your compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication make a profound difference in the lives of our community members every single day.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to your families and loved ones. Their support, patience, and understanding make your service possible. They share in the sacrifices and deserve recognition for the important role they play behind the scenes.

To all EMS providers everywhere—thank you for your courage, your selflessness, and your commitment to serving others.

Happy EMS Week! We are proud of you, grateful for you, and honored to serve alongside you.
