Haakon County Public Library Haakon County Public Library is located in Philip, South Dakota, on the first floor of the Haakon County Courthouse.

We offer a wide selection of books, audio books, large print books, movies, computer access, free wi-fi, printing, and meeting space.

Upcoming Events and Closures:
- Thursday 5/28/26 11:30-12:30 Fredrick Seaman will be hosting the first of "Lunch with a Lion" Reading the Chronicals of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Please feel free to bring a sack lunch. This will be every Thursday until the end of the book.

-Friday 5/29/26 Bingo Sheets need to be turned in so we can draw for winners.

- Monday 6/1/26 the library will be closed for election training and set up.

- Tuesday 6/2/26 the library will be closed due to voting in the community room.

- Wednesday 6/3/26 We can't wait to see everybody for our first week of Summer Reading Program!
