WVU Barbour County Extension Service WVU’s Barbour County Extension Office is part of the national land-grant system.

Each office has the same mission as its foundation: to help people put knowledge to work. Each WVU Extension Office can provide the public with information on many topics from many resources. The Barbour County Extension Office faculty and staff provide assistance and educational programs in the following areas: Agriculture & Natural Resources, 4-H & Youth Development, Families and Health, Communi

ty Educational and Workforce Development. To meet and support the needs of local people and communities, county faculty and staff involve local residents in developing and leading specific programs and activities.

Don't forgot to join us this Saturday morning as we talk grass, soil, and drones!

Event location will be at the large barn just past the address on the flyer. Signs will be posted.

Please join us to discuss forages! Dr. Katie Payne will lead us on a pasture walk to talk about forages and soils and Kuhn's Aerial Applications will be on site to demonstrate their spraying drone.

Barbour 4-H has been busy these last few weeks, the Barbour County 4-H Livestock Judging kids attended the West Virginia Purebred Sheep Breeders Association judging contest in Petersburg the last of April. This was our first trip to this contest and we will definitely be attending again!

The Junior Team of Lily Perkins, Mallory Lach, Emma Moats and Lana Gibson earned first place!
The Senior Team of Hunter Townsend, Cabell Knotts and Bri Tenney finished in fourth place.
The other team of Clay Knotts, Boone Knotts and Kale Riley also made us proud!

Individually, Hunter earned fourth and Lana earned nineth.
