Our goal is to stimulate and promote economic expansion to advance the development and stability of the region increasing opportunities for employment and improving our standard of living. The BCDA works in conjunction with other org

anizations, Federal, State or Local, in the promotion and advancement of industrial, commercial, agricultural and recreational developments within the County. Aid is provided in the form of money and credit, land and industrial sites, technical assistance and such other assistance to approved applicants for the promotion, development and conduct of all types of business activity within Barbour County.

🇺🇸 The Blue and Gray Vendor Applications Now Open! 🇺🇸

Applications are now being accepted for food vendors and other vendors for The Blue and Gray, a three-day event commemorating the first land battle of the Civil War, the Battle of Philippi.

This annual event features live music, a parade, multiple reenactments, and living history demonstrations throughout the weekend. It’s always a great time in Philippi and we welcome vendors who would like to be part of this long-standing tradition.
