AgEP deadline reminder! Applications are due by 4:00 pm FRIDAY, May 29. If you still need to apply, please don’t wait. ⏰

If you plan to mail your packet, now’s the time to plan ahead. It must have a USPS postmark dated May 29 or earlier. With recent USPS changes, be sure to give yourself extra time.
• Ask for a manual postmark at the counter.
• Check the envelope before you leave the post office. 📬

You can also drop your packet off here at TVCD anytime before the deadline. We’re open 8 to 4, and the locked drop box by the door is available.

We had a great crowd last evening for the Hay: Techniques, Testing and Discussion class here at the TVCD office! 🌾🐮

Big thanks to Gene Hovatter from Higher Knowledge Farms, LLC for teaching, and a huge thank‑you to Robin Ward from FSA, as well as everyone who helped the evening run so smoothly. 🙌

Everyone jumped in with great questions and shared tips. We talked about bale size, moisture, timing, storage, feeding needs, hay testing and more. It was a helpful mix for both new and experienced producers. 👍

Are you a landowner in Randolph or Tucker County?

Do you have a strong interest in the conservation of West Virginia’s natural resources?

Are you interested in becoming a Tygarts Valley Conservation District Supervisor representing Randolph or Tucker County?

A candidate for supervisor must have experience in agriculture.

“Agriculture” means the production of food, fiber, woodland products, by means of cultivation, tillage of soil, and by the conduct of animal, livestock, dairy, apiary, equine, or poultry husbandry and the practice of forestry, silviculture, horticulture, or other legal plant or animal production and all farm practices.

If so, you may qualify to be a Tygarts Valley Conservation District Supervisor.

Public notices have been placed in today's Inter-Mountain and Parsons Advocate newspapers. Application Deadline: open until vacancy is filled.

If you’re planning to mail your AgEP application packet, now’s the time to plan ahead 📬

The deadline is 4:00 PM on Friday, May 29. Your packet needs a USPS postmark from May 29 or earlier to count.

You might have noticed a change to USPS processing procedures, so please give yourself a little extra time ⏳

• If you mail your packet, ask for a manual postmark at the counter
• This makes sure it gets marked the same day you send it
• Take a quick look at the envelope before you leave the post office 👍

You can also drop your packet off here at TVCD. We’re open M‑F except holidays, 8am‑4pm, and the locked drop box by the door is available anytime.

A long holiday weekend is coming up, but the AgEP signup deadline is coming up soon too. We want to make sure everyone has plenty of chances to get an application in before the application period closes at 4 PM on May 29 ⭐

TVCD is open 8am‑4pm weekdays. We’ll be closed Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day 🇺🇸

We know our office hours don’t always match the times you’re already in town. We get it, so we made things easier.

• Stop by anytime between now and 4 PM on May 29
• If we’re closed, grab the clipboard on the front door
• It has forms, checklists, envelopes, and pens inside ✏️
• You can also get applications and forms on our website 24/7: https://www.wvca.us/district/tvcd.cfm 🌐

Remember:
• Please include FSA maps with your packet
• Soil sample results from 7/1/23 or later are fine
• Applications must include all required items to be considered for approval ✔️

When you’re finished and sure you signed and dated everything, drop your packet in the locked box by the door 🔒

AgEP signups are open through 4:00 PM on May 29, and we’d love to help you get your application in.

TVCD is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, and will be closed on the following state and federal holidays:

• Tuesday, May 12: Primary Election Day
• Monday, May 25: Memorial Day

We know trying to catch a government office while it’s open can feel like trying to spot Bigfoot. So, we made it easier!

You can apply anytime:
Between now & 4:00 PM on May 29, swing by whenever works for you.

If you don't make it here by closing time, there will be a clipboard on the front door with checklists, forms, envelopes, and pens ready to grab.

📌Remember that FSA maps and printouts of soil sample results submitted in previous years cannot be reused, and applications cannot be approved if submitted without all applicable items.

When you’re finished (and sure you brought all the other required documents), drop your packet in the locked drop box by the door. 🗳️
