Our thoughts are with Clearfield EMS on this difficult day. Medic 1 is the next due ALS to our service area, and when busy, back us up to ensure that our coverage area is protected with paramedic services. EMS takes a whole team, and we are honored to assist them during this time.

Today, our station was temporarily out of service so that our crew members could travel to pay their final respects to AEMT Scott Wachob.

During this difficult time, our friends at Moshannon Valley EMS (Medic 23) graciously provided coverage for the Clearfield area. Their support allowed our staff the opportunity to grieve, honor our colleague, and be with one another.

We are deeply grateful to Moshannon Valley EMS for their professionalism, generosity, and commitment to serving our community when we needed it most.

Our hearts ache for the family, friends, and colleagues of Scott Wachob. May those who loved Scott know that we are reassured through the comfort of Psalm 34:18. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted ; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed." We pray for the strength and comfort to Scott's family, friends, and his colleagues of Clearfield EMS as they mourn his untimely death. Scott's professionalism, kindness, and genuineness is unmatched. He provided every person he met with respect and compassion. He was the example we should strive to be in our career. May our prayers give strength and comfort to everyone that mourns for Scott. Thank you Scott, for everything you have done to save lives, make a difference and be there when people needed you the most. Rest Easy, we will take it from here!

From the Chief:

This past weekend, Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services was humbled and honored by a request from Madera Volunteer Ambulance Service to provide uninterrupted service to their communities surrounding Madera that includes Bigler and Beccaria Townships. It was a privilege to be asked to provide operational support to a legacy ambulance service of the Moshannon Valley. It is probably the first time in a long while that Harry and Faye Wiley have had a break from their passion for helping their community. Harry and Faye have combined years of volunteer service totaling over 80 years together in helping those in need. They have done so without break or hesitation.

They join a legendary group like Jeff, Kathy and Sue from Irvona Ambulance, and the late Sue Hoffman and her husband John of Karthaus Ambulance that have poured and continue to pour their hearts and souls into delivering compassionate and immediate care to the people they serve.

We honor their legacy by working together on strategic planning to identify staffing needs and sustainability of rural prehospital emergency care delivery for all our communities.

I thank Harry and Faye personally for their hospitality, kindness and the privilege of being entrusted with providing our services to their friends, families and strangers that they enjoy protecting and serving. I appreciate all that you do every single day!
