June is National Safety Month, a reminder that injury prevention starts in our homes, workplaces, roads, and communities.

At the American Trauma Society, we recognize the importance of education, awareness, and prevention efforts that help reduce injuries and support safer environments for everyone.

Throughout the month, we encourage individuals and communities to take small steps that can make a big impact on safety and injury prevention every day.

๐Ÿš‘ Today, during the final day of National EMS Week, we recognize EMS Remembrance Day. ๐Ÿš‘

Today is a time to reflect and honor those who have been part of the EMS profession and helped shape the service we know today โ€” whether they have since left EMS or have passed away.

Many former EMS providers dedicated countless hours to caring for others, answering late-night calls, supporting their communities, and serving alongside their fellow responders. Even after stepping away from the profession, the impact they made continues to be felt.

We also remember those who are no longer with us, honoring their service, sacrifice, and the lives they touched throughout their time in EMS.

EMS is more than a career โ€” itโ€™s a family, and once youโ€™ve been part of it, youโ€™re always part of it.

Today we thank and remember all those who helped pave the way and serve as part of the EMS community, both past and present. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

๐Ÿš‘ Today we recognize EMS Recognition Day during National EMS Week! ๐Ÿš‘

Today is simply about appreciation.

Appreciation for the early mornings, late nights, interrupted family dinners, missed sleep, and the willingness to respond whenever the pager tones drop.

Appreciation for the calm voices during stressful moments, the reassuring presence during emergencies, and the dedication EMS providers bring to every call โ€” no matter how big or small.

EMS is not always an easy job, and much of what providers do happens quietly behind the scenes without recognition. Today, we want to make sure they know their hard work, sacrifice, and commitment to our community truly matter.

Thank you to all EMS personnel for continuing to serve with compassion, strength, and heart. Our community is grateful for each and every one of you. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

๐Ÿš‘ Today, during National EMS Week, we recognize Save-A-Life Day! ๐Ÿš‘

Saving lives doesnโ€™t only happen on emergency scenes โ€” it can start right here in our community.

Today is about encouraging everyone to learn simple but lifesaving skills that can make a huge difference during an emergency. Donating blood, learning CPR, taking a Stop the Bleed course, checking on neighbors, and being prepared to act in critical moments are all ways everyday people can help save lives.

Weโ€™re excited to share that community CPR classes will be coming soon, along with Stop the Bleed courses open to the public. These classes help provide the knowledge and confidence needed to step in and help before first responders arrive.

In a small town, we look out for one another โ€” and together, we can build a safer, stronger community.

Stay tuned for more information on upcoming classes and opportunities to learn lifesaving skills! โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

๐Ÿš‘ Today, during National EMS Week, we recognize EMS for Children Day! ๐Ÿš‘

Children are not just small adults โ€” they require specialized care, equipment, training, and compassion during emergencies. EMS providers must be prepared to respond to some of the most stressful and emotional calls involving our youngest patients.

From calming frightened children and supporting anxious parents to delivering lifesaving care in critical moments, EMS professionals work hard to ensure pediatric patients receive the best care possible when they need it most.

In small communities, caring for children often means caring for neighbors, classmates, teammates, and familiar faces โ€” making these calls even more personal.

Today, we recognize and thank EMS providers for their dedication to pediatric emergency care and for the compassion they show children and families every single day. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

๐Ÿš‘ Today, during National EMS Week, we recognize EMS Safety Day! ๐Ÿš‘

Every call EMS responds to comes with unknowns, which is why safety is always a top priority โ€” for our patients, our crews, and our community.

From wearing proper protective equipment and practicing safe driving habits to training for high-stress situations and watching out for one another on scene, EMS providers make countless decisions each day to help ensure everyone goes home safely.

In a small town, these responders are more than EMS providers โ€” theyโ€™re our friends, neighbors, and family members. Their commitment to serving others while keeping safety at the forefront does not go unnoticed.

Thank you to all EMS personnel for your dedication, professionalism, and continued focus on safety every single day. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

๐Ÿš‘ Today, during National EMS Week, we recognize EMS Education Day! ๐Ÿš‘

EMS is a field that never stops changing, which means learning never stops either. From classroom training and certifications to hands-on scenarios and continuing education, our EMS providers are constantly working to improve their skills and knowledge to better serve our community.

Behind every response is hours of training, preparation, teamwork, and dedication. Whether itโ€™s learning new protocols, practicing lifesaving skills, or mentoring the next generation of providers, education plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care.

Thank you to all EMS personnel, instructors, and mentors who continue to invest their time and effort into learning and growing in this profession. Our community is stronger and safer because of you. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘
