🐾 Happy National Dog Day!

Today we "paws" to recognize the four-legged members of the Phillipsburg Police Department — K-9 Harley and K-9 Peanut!

Our K-9 teams dedicate countless hours to training and work alongside our officers to help protect and serve the Phillipsburg community. Harley and Peanut certainly take “working like a dog” seriously and never complain about the occasional “ruff” day.

Today, it’s their turn to get a little extra recognition.

Please join us in showing some appreciation for Harley and Peanut — our Dawgs of the Department! 🐕‍🦺🚔💙

🚨 Vehicle Burglary Investigation Update

The Phillipsburg Police Department is currently investigating numerous vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Pursel Hill and Valley View areas of town.

If any resident has surveillance footage from the early morning hours of Monday, August 24 that shows any possible suspects or suspicious activity, please contact us at 908-835-2002.

As a reminder, vehicle burglaries are most commonly crimes of opportunity. Please help reduce your chances of becoming a victim by:

• Locking your vehicle every time
• Removing valuables and personal items from your vehicle
• Avoiding leaving items visible inside your vehicle

Thank you for your assistance and for helping keep our community safe.

📚 Back to School Safety Reminder 🚸

As we prepare to welcome students back for the 2026-2027 school year, the Phillipsburg Police Department reminds everyone that safety is a shared responsibility.

🚗 To our motorists: Please slow down and remain alert, especially during arrival and dismissal times. Our community has a large number of students walking to and from school, and drivers should be prepared for increased pedestrian traffic, school buses, and changing traffic patterns.

🚌 Remember to stop for school buses when their red lights are activated and students are boarding or exiting. Failing to do so puts our students at risk and may earn you a feature on our “Bus Stop Busted” series.

🚶 To our students and parents: Please help keep everyone safe by following pedestrian safety laws. Use sidewalks and crosswalks when available, and always remain aware of your surroundings when walking near roadways.

🚲 To our e-bike riders, especially PHS students: Please ensure you are following all applicable laws regarding e-bike operation, including traffic laws and licensing requirements. Violations observed by officers will be addressed accordingly.

We look forward to another great year working alongside our students, families, schools, and community partners. Let’s work together to make the 2026-2027 school year a safe, successful, and fun one for everyone!

Welcome back and stay safe!

$500,000 INVESTMENT IN PUBLIC SAFETY

The Town of Phillipsburg is excited to share that Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. has secured $500,000 in federal Community Project Funding for the Phillipsburg Police Department!

This significant investment will help the Department enhance and expand critical technology, including camera systems, automatic license plate readers, the drone program, and training technology—giving our officers additional tools to prevent and solve crimes, improve situational awareness, and better serve our community.

Most importantly, this funding allows Phillipsburg to make important public safety improvements without placing the entire financial burden on our local taxpayers.

Thank you to Congressman Kean for his continued support of the Phillipsburg Police Department and our community!

What a great week for Phillipsburg!

In just one week, we are celebrating $3.2 MILLION in funding for our community:

$2.4 million for Delaware River Park improvements
$500,000 for Phillipsburg Police Department technology and public safety
$300,000 to strengthen and revitalize Phillipsburg’s UEZ program

That’s $3.2 MILLION being invested in Phillipsburg’s parks, public safety, local businesses, events, tourism, and future.

There is a lot to be excited about in Phillipsburg—and we’re just getting started!
