We officially kicked off something BIG in rural Kansas this week 👏

Phillips County EMS partnered with Phillips County Health Systems, PRONTO International, and UCSF to launch the first FRONTIER OB training of its kind in the state. PRONTO and UCSF developed the curriculum and traveled to Phillips County to lead this initial course—bringing world-class training directly to our rural providers.

FRONTIER: Facilitating Rural Obstetric and Neonatal Training Through Interprofessional Emergency Response

This training brings together EMS and hospital teams to prepare for high-risk, low-frequency obstetric and neonatal emergencies—because in rural healthcare, we don’t always get a second chance.

What makes this even more exciting? This is just the beginning.

Made possible by the Patterson Family Foundation, this program is designed to expand across Northwest Kansas—strengthening care for moms and babies across Region 1.

We’re incredibly proud of the teamwork, energy, and dedication shown by everyone involved in this first training in Phillips County. All the planning, coordinating, and behind-the-scenes work officially came to life this week—and it showed.

Stay tuned… we’re just getting started. 💪

Phillips County First Responders showed up tonight. 👏

We had the honor of hosting Trooper Ben for his Go and Grow presentation—bringing a message that hit home for all of us. A reminder to be present, to lead with intention, and to always choose to help more—for our patients, our teammates, and our communities.

In a profession that can wear on you, that message matters.

Getting our EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement crews together doesn’t happen often—but nights like this remind us we’re not in it alone. We’re stronger together, and we show up better because of it.

Huge thank you to the Phillips County Community Foundation 808 Fund and Des Jardin Fund for helping make this possible. And to an anonymous donor, Golden Plains Credit Union, and First National Bank & Trust, FDIC for taking care of the meal—Farmhouse Kitchen did an amazing job!

Grateful for the people we serve with every day. 💙

Our first staff meeting of the year was held this last Monday with 25 team members in attendance!

This month’s topic focused on respiratory protocols and CPAP.

Special recognition goes to Buster, our volunteer AEMT Teresa McComb's facility dog and unofficial PCEMS mascot, who slept peacefully through the entire meeting—proof that our training environment is calm, confident, and apparently very nap-friendly. 🐶💤

Our EMS family is deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and friend, Tim Seifert, PA-C.

While Tim had not been working alongside us recently as he bravely fought cancer, his impact on our EMS providers and our service never faded. Tim was always willing to take time in the Emergency Department to educate, to answer questions, and to support our crews. Whether it was teaching in the moment, offering reassurance, or simply being someone you could talk to, he made a lasting impression on so many of us.

Tim treated EMS as true partners in patient care. He was approachable, kind, and genuinely invested in the people behind the uniforms. Many of our providers considered him not just a colleague, but a friend.

We are grateful for the time we shared with him and for the knowledge, encouragement, and compassion he gave so freely. His presence will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tim’s family, loved ones, and our partners at Phillips County Health Systems during this difficult time. 🤍

Our hearts are heavy as we share the passing of our friend and colleague, Tim Seifert, PA-C.

Tim served our Emergency Department and our community with skill, compassion, and a reassuring presence that patients and staff felt the moment he walked into a room. His journey with cancer was marked by courage, honesty, and an unwavering faith that was inspiring. 🕊

He touched the lives of so many patients, families, and team members through his care and humor. His impact on Phillips County Health Systems will be felt for years to come.

Our hearts are with his family, his loved ones, and all who are grieving this loss. We invite our community to join us in keeping them in your prayers. 🤍

Thank you for holding Tim’s family and our team in your thoughts during this difficult time.
