🚧 Road Closure Notice – Tue. August 11, 2026 🚧

Good morning, Phillipston!

Please be advised that Baldwinville Road will be closed one way from the Phillipston Town Common to State Road for roadway repairs. There are detour signs set up!

✅ Traffic will be able to travel on Baldwinville Road from State Road to the Town Common.

The Phillipston Highway Department is working with Mass Broken Stone today to repair the sides of the roadway. Please use caution in the area, follow the detour signs and expect minor delays while crews complete this important work.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our roads safe!

Over the last two days, Phillipston Police Officers Sturgis and Welch participated in ALERRT training in Ashburnham alongside officers from several surrounding departments.

During the training, the officers gained valuable experience and enhanced their skills in incident command, Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), and tactical response during critical incidents. These courses provide realistic, hands-on training designed to prepare first responders for high-risk and rapidly evolving situations.

The Phillipston Police Department remains committed to providing our officers with high-quality training opportunities to ensure they are prepared to respond effectively and safely to critical incidents while serving our community.

We would like to thank the instructors, organizers, and participating agencies for making this valuable training opportunity possible.

⚠️ Good Morning Phillipston ⚠️ As a result of the ongoing paving project on Baldwinville Road, the road will be closed to through traffic today, with the exception of residents and business patrons. The paving crews are starting in the vicinity of 190 Baldwinville Road and working towards the Common. Please seek an alternate route. Thank you for your patience.

Today was a great success in educating NRHS students on the significance of making smart decisions this prom and graduation season. GAAP Day 2026 was a great day!

Thank you to Ms. Lyons, our Phillipston and Templeton police departments, first-responders, Worcester County Sheriff's Department, MA State Police, Worcester County District Attorney's Office, Life Flight, and the National Guard as well as numerous local organizations for coming out today and supporting GAAP Day 2026! GAAP Day is a major community effort to safeguard NRHS Warriors and the wider community especially during prom/graduation season through educating our young people on the implications of making positive choices.

To everyone who supported our students today or behind the scenes: we appreciate you! Stay tuned for more pictures over the coming days, and thank you again to all involved!

🚨 Traffic Alert 🚨

Petersham Road at Queen Lake Road will be closed throughout the day today due to ongoing work in the area. The road is also anticipated to remain closed for approximately half the day tomorrow.

Please plan ahead and seek an alternate route if you typically travel through this area.

🚨 Here We Go Again… 🚨

Mother Nature has decided we didn’t get enough winter yet and is sending a lovely mix of sleet, snow, freezing rain, and ice our way. Because apparently just one type of precipitation would be too easy.

If you must travel, please use caution on the roadways. Conditions may change quickly and things could get slippery out there.

Our Highway Department is already out doing their thing, working hard to keep the roads safe for everyone — and we appreciate them more than they know on nights like this.

On the bright side, according to the attached post from Narragansett Regional School District, it looks like the kiddos scored an extra two hours of sleep tomorrow morning. Parents… we’ll let you decide if that’s a win or not. 😄

Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all schools in the Narragansett Regional School District will have a two hour delay tomorrow - March 6, 2026. As a result of this delay, the morning preschool program will be canceled, but the afternoon preschool program will remain as scheduled. Also, please be aware that the Extended Day program will not be open in the morning.

Due to the unpredictability of the forecast, I ask that you please stay tuned for any further updates.

The Phillipston Police Department is here to tell you that a Winter Storm Warning has been issued, and schools are canceling classes faster than you can say 'snow day' so pay close attention to local news and school media to keep up to date on our district!

❄️Heavy snowfall and strong winds are expected, so you might want to grab your favorite board game and get cozy. ❄️ Travel may become super tough, so unless you're a snow-driving ninja, just stay home and enjoy the snow from your window. ❄️ Visibility may be really bad due to blowing snow, so don't even think about driving unless you have a snow-friendly car. If you don't need to travel, just chill at home and let the Phillipston Highway Department, Phillipston Fire & EMS, and emergency responders do their thing.
