Office Hours with U.S. Congressman Josh Riley’s and N.Y.S. Senator Hinchey’s Teams at Phoenicia Library, Wednesday, 6/3, 1 - 4:00 pm

Get expert help with any federal program: Social Security, Immigration, IRS, Passports, Medicare, etc. that you can’t resolve. Help with state programs as well. Hinchey's team can help with problems pertaining to NYS or local issues.

Congressman Riley and Senator Hinchey's staff will be coming to Phoenicia Library to host office hours for Ulster County constituents. Community members are invited to come to meet the team and receive help with questions or problems.

Please note, this event is hosted by the District Teams. Representatives Riley and Senator Hinchey will not be present. See less

Forty-three residents came out Saturday at the library to express themselves about the May 22 draft of the new comprehensive plan. There were concerns, questions, appreciation for aspects and an overall positivity. Thank you all who came. Earlier in the day similar sized groups met at the Pine Hill Community Center and Town Hall. People care!

How to Grow Food Part 2 - we learned all about soils, compost, amendments, mulch from Katherine. Then we went outside with Tania who demonstrated Hügelkultur (pronounced hoo-gul-culture), a centuries-old planting method that involves building raised garden beds over a core of decaying branches, sticks, and leaves. We also planted, using layers of organic material and soils, a black bag with zucchini started “snail” style at the Good Company Club! Our next program is Saturday, June 20 on how to vanquish pests.
