The Brittney Cohn Project

The Brittney Cohn Project Through Brittney’s story, awareness grows and voices are heard.

Speaking up for those suffering from addiction, trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual violence — and for families still searching for answers.

There is something powerful about a room full of people who refuse to stay silent.

On June 13th, I’ll be speaking at Honoring Destiny alongside people who have taken some of life’s hardest experiences and turned them into awareness, hope, healing, and purpose.

And I’m just going to say it…

I would love to see some familiar faces in that room.

Over the last few months, I’ve spent countless hours talking to people privately who needed someone to listen, answering messages into the early hours of the morning, supporting others through grief, sharing resources, and doing my best to make sure people know they are not alone.

This time, I’m asking you to show up for me.

Show up for Brittney.
Show up for awareness.
Show up for the conversations that can change lives.

Sometimes support is a comment.
Sometimes it’s a share.

And sometimes it’s simply being there.

Never give up on the voiceless.

Not when the process is exhausting.
Not when the answers are hard to find.
Not when people tell you to move on.
And not when the world has already decided the story is over.

Behind every file, every report, every statistic, and every headline is a human being who mattered to someone.

A daughter.
A son.
A mother.
A father.
A friend.

Someone who was loved.

The people who can no longer speak for themselves still deserve dignity. Their families deserve respect, transparency, and honest answers.

The path is rarely easy. It comes with sleepless nights, closed doors, setbacks, and people who will try to break your spirit. But you keep showing up anyway.

Because giving up is not an option when someone you love no longer has a voice of their own.

The Brittney Cohn Project exists to remind people that every life has value, every story matters, and every person deserves to be seen as more than a narrative.

Keep showing up.
Keep asking questions.
Keep fighting for dignity.
Keep being a voice for those who no longer can.

This Mother’s Day looked different for me.
While others were at brunch, I spent mine at the Motel 6 on 51st Ave and McDowell. I stood in front of Room 222—the last place Brittney was alive. This isn't just a location to me; this is where my daughter took her last breath.
She was only 26 years old and had so much life yet to live. Unfortunately, she took her last breath in a room that was in the name of a man the 🚓 took the word of. The PPD made a decision that day to ignore the visible signs without asking why. You see, it’s easier to accept something than to challenge it. In a department shortage, it’s easy to cut corners. The problem is, they did this with Brittney’s life.
Her rep0rt read like a witness statement rather than a de@th inv3stigation. It was built on bi@s and a lack of regard for the truth. While they were busy taking the word of those who expl0ited her, they were ignoring the evidence she left behind.
I’m here because I won’t accept a version of the truth that was written in to close a file. I’m not backing down I’m here to stay!

The first wildflower to bloom
rose tall… in bright pink. 🌸

Strong… even knowing what it took to get there.

Because she carried more than most ever saw…

Today, after some heavy moments…
I walked outside and saw more had bloomed.

But that first one —
that one felt like her.

And it still says everything.

She tried to stand tall
through things that would break most people…
and she still found a way to shine.

Brittney had a light about her.
She was beautiful. She laughed. She loved.

For those of us left behind,
we carry the weight of her being gone.

But through it all… she stood tall.
Just like the flower that emerged.

And even now —
she’s still standing tall in her videos,
helping so many… even through the obstacles.

Because just like wildflowers —
they don’t wait for perfect conditions.
They find a place to grow… against the odds.

And so did she.

“Plant them. Let them bloom. Let them laugh.”

These were the words we placed on the wildflower seeds
we gave out at her funeral.

There is no preparing for the moment it actually hits you… Most days your brain protects you. And some days it hits you all at once. This is it. This is all that’s left.

I found this on my daughter’s phone after she d*ed on 2/7/26.

If she looks like someone who was just brought back to life, it’s because she was. This was 6/6/24—a battle none of us knew the extent of. She shielded the people she loved from the parts of her life she was not proud of in an effort to protect us.

I continue to talk about the uncomfortable parts—the parts people want to look away from—because this was her reality. This is not easy to share, and I’m sure it’s not easy to watch. But add*ction is the reality for so many who have survived abuse and tr@fficking.

She recorded this for a reason. Please listen to her voice. 🕊️

Please Share… This is the REALITY most people don’t see.
That’s why this conversation matters.

It’s not one person on a corner anymore—it’s networks, and they’re working together.

But we’re still arresting the women, putting their faces on the news, and calling it a “sweep.”
Like the problem has been solved.

Meanwhile, the people behind it—the ones profiting, organizing, and exploiting—are still there.

And then when these women finally stand in a courtroom, their past is what gets used against them.
They’re not seen as victims. They’re painted as the problem.
