The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona will conduct our bi-annual grounds/flower cleanup and pesticide spraying on July 13-17, 2026.

Please remove all flowers and decorations from the gravesites by July 12 to help us maintain the dignity and appearance of these sacred grounds.

Today, the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and Prescott National Cemetery proudly join the nation in commemorating Juneteenth National Independence Day — a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates the enduring promise of freedom.

On June 19, 1865, news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth stands as a powerful reminder of resilience, justice, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

As we walk these grounds that honor our nation’s Veterans and their families, we reflect on the contributions, sacrifices, and strength Black Americans who have served throughout our history. Their legacy continues to inspire and guide us.

May this day encourage reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to the values of freedom and dignity for all.
