Registration is officially OPEN for our Discover Madison tours! 🗓️
We are excited to invite families of incoming kindergarten and middle school students to our annual Discover Madison Tours! During the tours, families will have the opportunity to learn about Madison’s Signature Programs, tour each Madison elementary or middle school, meet school principals, and participate in a Q&A.

She shows up every single day with a warm smile and a genuine sweetness that puts every child at ease, helping them feel safe, loved, and ready to learn from the moment they walk through the door. Her dedication is unmatched; whether it’s helping a child tie their shoes, comforting someone who’s having a tough morning, or jumping in wherever the classroom needs an extra hand, Ms. Ellie does it all without hesitation and without being asked twice. Beyond her warmth and reliability, Ms. Ellie brings a remarkable creativity and imagination to the classroom that turns ordinary lessons into moments of real joy and wonder for the children. In Madison No. 1 Middle School’s Spanish Immersion program, students receive half of their academic content in Spanish, participate in a Spanish acquisition class that focuses on fun and engaging activities that utilize the Spanish language, and enjoy a dedicated Spanish engagement game room. By the end of their 8th-grade year, Spanish Immersion students emerge as confident, culturally experienced, fluent Spanish speakers and may be eligible to receive up to two years of high school foreign language credit.

Reminder: there will be no school for students tomorrow, Friday, October 9th.

🍂 Next week is fall break from October 12th-16th. There will be no school and school offices will be closed. The District office will be open to the public 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and closed Thursday and Friday.

Step behind the scenes as our Madison Heights student winner walks us through her creative process and what "Dos Idiomas, Una Voz: Somos Heights" means to her. Her artwork beautifully reflects our mission to empower confident, bilingual, and culturally connected leaders. 🌟📚

Madison Heights is home to Madison’s elementary grade Spanish Immersion program where students are taught half of their academic content completely in Spanish. We’d like to recognize Debra Cheatham, Preschool Teacher at Madison Traditional Academy for receiving the You Make the Difference Award! 🏆

Deb Cheatham has been a steady, beloved presence in the earliest chapter of the MTA preschool experience for 18 years, a presence that has meant something to a whole community of MTA students and families. As a 4-year-old preschool teacher, she has welcomed class after class of children through her classroom door, giving them their very first experience of school, and for many of those children, that first experience was shaped by her warmth, her patience, and her genuine love for them. In Deb’s classroom, children take their first steps toward independence, try new things, and begin to believe in themselves before they even start kindergarten. She creates an environment built on structure and consistency, where children feel loved and cared for while also learning to take pride in doing things well
