Last week we were honored to see Davina Mena, Tribal Liaison for the Division, be awarded the Denise Phillips Culturally Responsive Community Outreach Award at the National Council on Problem Gambling Annual Conference.
Named for Denise Phillips, a gambling treatment provider and strong advocate for community outreach, this award recognizes outstanding advocacy and public awareness efforts designed to reach a specific cultural or identity-based community.
Serving as a vital bridge between ’s Tribal Nations and the state’s primary authority for prevention and treatment, Davina plays a transformative role in ensuring Tribal voices are represented in conversations surrounding awareness, prevention, and recovery.
Through her extensive education and outreach efforts over the past two years, Davina has emerged as a leading and trailblazer in advancing problem gambling , , and across Arizona’s Tribal communities.
