It’s LANYARD DAY in our Lions Den!!!!

Every student that participated in Lions Den—-we’re talking over 150+ will get a brand new lanyard and a certificate of completion. 🦁💙💙. All of these students worked extra hard this year improving their reading and writing skills!

A huge thank you to our wonderful PTO for funding the new lanyards and our wonderful LOM parents for donating snacks!!!

What a delightful surprise when I arrived at work prepared for "Best in the West" teacher appreciation week, only to discover that the entire staff was wearing matching shirts in celebration of my upcoming June retirement. Our 2nd graders in our Lions Den completed a research assignment today. They researched and read about an animal that lives in the arctic, took notes with facts and created a slide show to share.

This type of reading and writing is incredibly important as students move into the upper grades and are expected to read nonfiction and comprehend it. They all did an amazing job!
